This week we welcomed Adrienne Gauthier to the CSCCE team. She joins us as our new Trainer and Learning Program Manager, and will be working to help us expand our portfolio of professional development offerings and devise programmatic pathways through them for the range of STEM community managers that we support. In this blog post, find out a little bit more about Adrienne, and why we’re so excited to have her on board!
About Adrienne
Adrienne is an instructional design expert who comes to us from Dartmouth College, where she spent almost a decade working with STEM faculty to design courses for undergraduate learners. Through consultations, thought-partnership, collaboration, and faculty development workshops and events, she shared and promoted a learner-focused and inclusive teaching philosophy. During her time at Dartmouth, she was the program manager for the Learning Fellows Program, supporting and guiding faculty and undergraduate peer learning mentors in collaborative learning environments.
She also spent 10 years at the University of Arizona, working in the Department of Astronomy on innovative instructional technology tools and online course design and facilitation. One of her favorite astronomy education and outreach projects was to design and manage the International Year of Astronomy 2009’s presence in Second Life.
“I’m really looking forward to combining my creativity, enthusiasm, and design thinking approach in this new phase of CSCCE’s growth – and to getting into the virtual classroom with our learners soon!”
Adrienne Gauthier, CSCCE Trainer and Learning Program Manager
Adrienne will be working as part of CSCCE’s expanding training team alongside CSCCE Founder and Director Lou Woodley, Learning Director Camille Santistevan, and Trainer and Curriculum Assistant Alice Martinic. Together, they’ll be designing and delivering a STEM community management curriculum to serve the range of roles we are now seeing – from online community managers to those supporting stakeholder engagement around international infrastructure. Our existing foundational course, Scientific Community Engagement Fundamentals will act as the gateway to this advanced curriculum, which will combine theory and practice in our familiar cohort-based training style.
We’re really excited to have Adrienne on the CSCCE Training Team, and can’t wait to see how her extensive experience shapes our learning programs – and our processes!
