This month, we welcome Alli Lindquist to the CSCCE team as our new Teaching and Project Assistant! Alli will be joining the CSCCE training team, and will be taking over much of Maya’s work as she prepares to head to grad school this fall.
In this blog post, we share a little more about Alli’s background and her new role here at CSCCE, and also how her work fits into our evolving team (for more on some of our recent staff transitions, please revisit last month’s blog post on the topic).
About Alli
With a background in neuroscience and biology, Alli has spent time researching Parkinson’s disease and working on developing cutting edge microscopy tools. She holds a masters degree in biology from Carnegie Mellon University, and has worked as a course developer and teaching assistant, lab manager, and research technician. Most recently, Alli served as a senior editor for Knowing Neurons, a neuroscience education and outreach website. We’re thrilled that Alli is bringing this combination of training and communications expertise to the team at CSCCE!
After working in the research laboratory for six or so years, I realized the best part of my job was developing my teaching skills, mentoring others, and seeing my mentees succeed even in the midst of complex and confusing projects. I am so excited to get the opportunity to spend all of my time supporting those in scientific community engagement positions, and helping them better serve their STEM communities.

Alli’s role as Teaching and Project Assistant
At CSCCE, Alli will join our training team, reporting directly to Camille, our Director of Learning (find out more about our team). Working closely with Camille and Center Director Lou Woodley, she’ll help prepare for, and deliver, a wide range of training and consultancy projects, predominantly online, to scientific community managers and scientific community organizations in the US and beyond. These will include our multi-week cohort-based courses and short-form Mini-workshops ranging from a half-day to multi-day experiences. She’ll also be involved in onboarding new learners to our courses, managing access to course materials, and adding new content to Canvas, our online learning management system (LMS).
We’re delighted that Alli has chosen to join us as we boost the capacity of our training team. She brings some highly relevant skills to our current portfolio of projects, and we’re looking forward to her applying her neuroscience and editing experience to some of our client work, as well as having her support in the virtual classroom.
