An image or diagram that is included in a piece of content and serves to present data, a framework or otherwise reinforce the text of the document in some way. A figure should be referenced in that document at least once. The image is described in a figure legend that includes credit or reference information, if appropriate. Figures are numbered sequentially throughout a document.
