The social role of a piece of content describes its purpose in terms of how it connects people and influences behavior. We have defined the following social roles for community-engaged content:
- Creating cohesion and/or a shared narrative
- Establishing and repeating shared rituals
- Learning more about one another
- Determining shared interests
- Making values visible and reinforcing them
- Creating an inclusive environment
