Blogs and website pages are often “tagged,” either publicly or in the website backend (or both), with keywords or phrases. Tags can be used to help users search for content, connect multiple pieces of content, and allow websites to highlight related articles. For tags to function well, they need to be used in a consistent manner (they can be case-sensitive, for example). Tag pruning, or gardening, is the act of looking through your tags for similar but different tags and consolidating them.
